Well, when you try hard things, sometimes you fail Well, when you try hard things, sometimes you fail. And I did that today with great success. 

I didn't set a PR, I didn't even finish. I had to tap out at mile 22 with a queasy stomach that would not take fuel without gagging. 

I trained to achieve a time goal, the temps were warmer than any of my training and the shoe debacle had me in repair mode all week. 

And all that is totally fine!
Excuses abound.

I didn't sign up for this marathon to simply finish. I wanted to PR. I wanted to push myself to run faster, and my body wasn't ready to do that on this day.

So, we will try again. Doing hard things means you sometimes fail. You learn something, and move on.

You just have to get after it, and keep moving.
