First run in my magic shoes. 10 miles. Intervals First run in my magic shoes. 10 miles. Intervals of 800 and 1600. My first time running with a carbon fiber plate in a road shoe. The Nike Vaporfly Next% 2 is actually my first "racing" shoe ever. With the new model coming out soon, these shoes were on sale, so I finally decided to grab a pair. To date, all my running has been in Brooks, so my feet are acclimated to that. But, the Vaporfly felt great. The energy return was amazing. The feel was so much different and my legs and core had to adjust to that new foam. Overall, I felt fast even during this first run breaking in the shoes. I love the cushion and support. The upper allowed for ample breathability. The tongue of the shoe is different. It's offset to line up with the foot and reduce pressure in the dorsiflexed position, I like it. It's a foreign setup for me, but it works well. I did get a hot spot on the ball of my left foot, so I'll need to get the shoe dialed in and build that callous over the next two weeks before the marathon. #running #runnersofinstagram #marathontraining #marathon #nike #nikevaporfly @nikerunning

I ended up hitting about 7:10 pace on average for my 1x1 intervals due to wind, and that is totally fine. VO2 improvement and mitochondrial adaptation was the goal, not the speed on the watch. #running #runnersofinstagram #runningmotivation #fleshtamersfitness
