I was a junior in college just waking up to get re I was a junior in college just waking up to get ready for my Tuesday classes on 9/11/2001.
It was my routine to turn on the TV to watch the news while getting ready, but on this day the normal upbeat news team was talking with somber tone.

There was a video shown replayed of a tall building burning. They were not sure what had happened. I heard them say it was in New York. Eventually as I was listening from the other room I heard someone say it was a plane that accidentally crashed into the building. 

I was going to college in Louisiana in the central time zone, and I had a 9:30 class on campus. So I was getting my breakfast. It was just a few minutes later that I heard one of the anchors say loudly; "the other tower has been hit!"

From that moment I was glued to the television with all kinds of emotions as the anchors were delivering all the details they could get. I was going through several emotions all at the same time. 

22 years later, I don't recall if I even went to class. I don't think I did. I do remember that most of the day a group of my friends and I gathered at the BCM and continued to watch the terror unfold across the country. 

At some point we heard that the president had landed just a few minutes north up I49 at Barksdale. We watched his remarks and felt some comfort, but being a military aged male with a father serving on active duty meant that I was mentally preparing for what might come next.
This week I've gradually added a few more miles. T This week I've gradually added a few more miles. Testing out the abdominal muscles and letting the soreness heal before running again. The legs and heart want to go, but we can't rush recovery. 

Light strength work this morning to keep everything 💪.
