Flesh Tamers: Christian Manliness: The Courage to Stand Firm

This weekend is the official launch of my first book, Christian Manliness: The Courage to Stand Firm.

The fear of speaking up and speaking out in truth is destroying the modern Christian church in United States. Christian men are not being courageous in the home, church, or communities. This must Stop! Our King deserves courage as He had courage in the face of opposition.

The fear of losing the praise of man, the fear of losing our jobs, the fear of fully believing the Truth of who Jesus is. This first battle is within us, as men, to overcome our own doubt and start living like we genuinely believe in Truth!

This book is a review on the subject of Christian manliness and the courage needed to stand on the truth of Christ in the face of opposition, being a good steward of the truth and our physical bodies, and to shun the praise of society and the fleeting pleasure and comfort of living for fleshly desires.

My goal in authoring this book is to show that modern Christianity is fighting for relevance today from a position of weakness, and as such will fail in the future to be the societal pillar that it once was unless it recaptures the courageous and manly spirit of the “author and perfector of our faith” (Heb 12:2), Jesus Christ, who was both manly and courageous, and is the matchless example of manhood.

My hope is that Christian Manliness: The Courage to Stand Firm is going to spur reflection and action and act as a reminder that we, as Christians, are on the side of Truth. We don’t dabble in far flung conspiracy, false teachings or hope in man, but we stand firm on the Truth of Jesus Christ.

We must be courageous in the face of opposition and be ready to accept the price of following Christ as we also must be willing to accept and repent of our own failures.

As this is my first book, I will gladly accept feedback. Please email me and let me know how I can improve, I’m sure there is much to learn. Favorable ratings on Amazon are very welcome as this helps me gain more readers and helps me in sharing this message. Thank you in advance. Preview or purchase the book on Amazon at this link.

Allowing Fear in the Face of Courage

I know that sounds backwards. It’s meant to.

It’s meant for those moments when you are so motivated to step out and act out, but then you chicken out.

Like when that awesome song you love starts playing in your earbuds and you think you could just bust the most fantastic moves in the middle of the gym. But then real life comes into focus and you remember you are just not that coordinated.

Yeah…too many other examples to list. But what big life changing things have you missed out on by allowing fear in the face of a moment of courage. What God thing did you miss out on by quenching the spirit.

As we start taking ourself less seriously and understanding that what other people think doesn’t matter as much, we’ll get a lot more big things done. Because it is only God and His glory that will matter in the end.

I’m Not Smart Enough To Do That

How many time have you had a purpose placed in your spirit only to doubt that you have the ability to make it happen? Well, you may not. It happens to me occasionally. But that shouldn’t always stop us from trying.

If God has purposed something in your spirit He is also faithful to help make it happen.

You can count on that. I’ve seen Him do it to many time personally for me and for others. I’m not saying I always jump to do everything, because I am not perfect. But I am still trying and growing and that is what each of us have to commit to doing.

We have to have courage and faith then take the first step.

This week on my LIFE Group we will be talking about Moses and his doubts when faced with a monumental ask from God. I can’t speak, I can’t lead, who should I say sent me and other doubts that Moses had. But God still encouraged him to his purpose.

What stretch goals have you set for yourself based on a prompting by the Holy Spirit? Take time to discuss in the comments and let other readers encourage and help you on your journey.

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
