Command and Control

I am not the master of my sea

I am not the captain of my ship

The courage to sail is not from within me

The mast and oar have no strength

Yet the journey is His joy and command

For His glory the moorings were destroyed and the harbor of my desire is lost

Onward in His hands I sail

To a shore lined with glory by and by

Autumn

What beauty,
these late colors upon the tree

How the leaves blaze

Surely this is their splendor
The most vibrant and full of life

How the colors pop off the canvas of the sky
It brings gladness to me
For God has given us a sign

Yet what’s this I see
The leaves dropping here and there
Is not this the pinnacle of their grandeur?

Oh the height of their beauty is the beginning of their end
For only a short time God waits for their purpose is for Him

Lord let my last breath and final purpose be as the leaves are to this tree
To return to you my best showing
And then quickly return to thee
