“This is why the church must guard not only the language of Christ, but the substance of Christ. The title “Jesus” is not enough if the doctrine of Jesus has been emptied out.”
The title “Jesus” is not enough if the doctrine of Jesus has been emptied out.
A false Jesus cannot save. A cultural Jesus cannot redeem. A convenient Jesus cannot call men to repentance, holiness, courage, and truth.
The church does not need a softer Christ. The church does not need a redesigned Christ. The church does not need a Christ shaped by the spirit of the age.
We need the true Christ. The crucified Christ. The risen Christ. The holy Christ. The reigning Christ.
That is the burden behind my new book, When the Truth Became Problematic.
This book is a call to put on truth again. To stand firm when doctrine is treated like a burden, conviction is treated like arrogance, and faithfulness is treated like extremism.
The truth did not become less true because the culture became uncomfortable with it.
Coming soon.
