We were told and we should know. Nothing comes as a surprise. Persecution will come, evil will increase and liars will be more bold in their deceptions.
There are too many things happening in our world to point the finger at single instances of evil. The mobs come in physical and digital form to persecute those belonging to the Way. (see Acts 9)
Furthermore Satan has been coming for the babies in an effort to destroy God’s plan for centuries (See Moses and Jesus as targets of infanticide).
But God is still in control and that will not change. He will carry us through the evil acts of Satan and man to fulfill His ultimate plan.
For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
Romans 1:21, 24-25 NASB
Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
Remember it is said of all that we are sinners. Yet forgiveness and understanding is given to those who believe in Christ Jesus. Our part is to love and share the Gospel of Jesus with those around us.
as it is written,
” there is none righteous , not even one ; there is none who understands , there is none who seeks for God ; all have turned aside , together they have become useless ; there is none who does good , there is not even one .”
” their throat is an open grave , with their tongues they keep deceiving ,”
” the poison of asps is under their lips “; ” whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness “;
” their feet are swift to shed blood , destruction and misery are in their paths , and the path of peace they have not known .”
” there is no fear of God before their eyes .”
Romans 3:10-18 NASB
